EL PASO, Texas – Hundreds of families gathered at the United States-Mexico border Saturday morning for a special "Hugs Not Walls" event.
For a few brief moments, the border gates opened to allow more than 240 families to reunite with one another.
Construction of the border wall is already underway near Downtown El Paso as part of President Donald Trump's executive order.
This was the sixth time the Border Network for Human Rights has hosted the event.
