NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A Davidson County man has been charged with sexual exploitation of a minor, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD).

Maxim Kesel, 30, is facing three charges of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor, according to police.

The Internet Crimes Against Children Unit (ICAC) received three tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) back in December.

The tips showed that multiple files containing child sexual abuse material (CSAM) were shared on the messaging app Kik for the past few months.

The tips shared two different accounts in Davidson County, one on Brittany Park Drive and one on Donelson Pike. A subpoena to AT&T revealed that both IP addresses belonged to Kesel.

In January 2025, another tip was shared, revealing a different user with the same IP address on Donelson Pike was sharing CSAM or child pornography with other users.

Detectives interviewed Kesel at his home, where he admitted to finding and sharing the files. He reportedly told police that he knew he had done wrong, but he did it out of curiosity and not because he was attracted to minors.

Kesel was arrested on Friday. His bond is set at $100,000.
