CENTRE COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Officials with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency have announced the arrest of a Colombian man in Pennsylvania, who is accused of child rape.
ICE officials say 38-year-old Julio Cesar Henao-Cordoba was taken into custody last week at his residence in State College.
Investigators say Henao-Cordoba has been wanted by law enforcement in Panama, since September of 2020, for the alleged aggravated sexual assault of a child.
The arrest of Julio Cesar Henao-Cordoba demonstrates ICE's dedication to protecting the most vulnerable members of our communities — our children,” said ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Philadelphia acting Field Office Director Brian McShane. “ICE remains steadfast in its mission to apprehend individuals accused of such heinous crimes, ensuring they are held accountable and that our neighborhoods remain safe for all.
Authorities say he was previously taken into custody, by US Border Patrol, in May of 2022, for illegally entering the United States.
After being processed by ICE, officials say Henao-Cordoba was paroled to the United States and last reported to the agency, in York, PA, in August of 2022.
Investigators say Henao-Cordoba is currently being held at the Clinton County Correctional Facility.
