Gladewater man accused of uploading child porn to chat service
GREGG COUNTY, Texas (KLTV) - A Gladewater man is in jail after officials say he uploaded numerous videos of child porn online.
Elijah Paul Leggett, 24, was arrested on March 18 for a charge of possession of child pornography. According to an arrest affidavit KLTV requested from Gregg County, the investigation began when officials were alerted to illegal videos being uploaded to a chat service.
The document says the 34 videos were uploaded to the chat site on July 7, 2024, and reported to the county on Aug. 29. They say the investigation led to Leggett, whose home was searched on Oct. 2. Leggett reportedly admitted to possessing child porn on several occasions, the document says, though he claimed he downloaded it to report uploaders to law enforcement. According to the affidavit, he went on to say he never reported other users.
Leggett admitted to owning and operating the accounts that had been uploading the videos, the affidavit says, and his arrest warrant was signed on March 14.
He remains booked in the Gregg County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
