Unable To Conceive, Live-In Couple Abduct Child From Jaipur Railway Station; Arrested
The incident took place on March 14, when the toddler was waiting for a train with his mother at the Jaipur station.

In a shocking incident, a couple who has been living together for a year, allegedly kidnapped a four-year-old boy from Jaipur railway station last week as they were unable to conceive, the police said.
The police held the couple and returned the child to his parents. The abduction was captured on the CCTV installed at the station.

As per the media reports, the police said that the incident took place on March 14, when the toddler was waiting for a train with his mother at the station.
The couple, identified as Sundar Kashyap and Jeevika (both 28), lured the toddler, identified as Shivam when he, along with his two siblings and mother, was on his way to Bihar’s Siwan, NDTV reported.
Following a nightlong search for Shivam, his parents- both daily-wage workers- filed a complaint with GRP on March 15. “Everything was caught on CCTV, which helped us track the accused," GRP SHO Arun Chaudhary said.
As per the police, after abducting the child, the couple took a bus to Mahuwa in Rajasthan’s Dausa district. Two days later, police arrested the couple from Mahuwa. The child was found safe and the accused were held under BNS Section 137(2) for kidnapping.
The police further revealed that upon interrogation, the couple said that they had been planning to abduct a child for about eight months and spent hours doing recce at the railway station before finally going through with their plan.
The accused woman, Jeevika, is married to another man and has two children with him, but she has been living with Kashyap, a labourer, in Jaipur for a year. However, she was unable to conceive with Kashyap, so, they plotted to kidnap a child.
