Sutton Foster and Christian Borle
The ‘Younger’ star Sutton Foster, who portrays 40-year-old Liza Miller and 26-year-old Liza Miller, has a much simpler life behind the scenes. Foster was previously married to actor Christian Borle after meeting in the 1990s while attending Carnegie Mellon. After appearing together in the Broadway show Thoroughly Modern Millie in 2002, the former couple began dating.
Foster and Borle exchanged vows in 2006 and remained together for three years before they split in 2009. The former flames, however, have remained friendly since their divorce and continue to support each other’s work. In fact, Borle appeared in two episodes of Younger season 5, where he portrayed a love interest of Foster’s character.
Sutton Foster and Ted Griffin
Foster’s second union with screenwriter Ted Griffin goes back to 2009, when the previous couple met on a blind date. After dating for multiple years, Foster and Griffin tied the knot in 2014. A few years following their wedding in 2017, the couple welcomed a daughter, Emily via adoption.
“There was something about being with Ted that made me want kids,” the actress shared. “He belonged in my family.”
However, in 2024, Foster filed for divorce from Griffin.
Sutton Foster and Hugh Jackman

Nico Tortorella and Bethany C. Meyers
Nico Tortorella, who portrays the lovable Josh and on-an-off love interest to Liza, has had his own romance behind the scenes. Tortorella has been with his partner, Bethany C Meyers, on and off for years. The couple originally met in 2006 while at college and dated for nearly 12 years before getting hitched in 2018, after Meyers proposed to Tortorella.
The couple has welcomed two children together — daughter Kilmer and son Pesce — in 2023 and 2024, respectively. In fact, the Tortorella and Meyers’s son was born during the devastating Hurricane Milton.
“The moment I realized I was in labor in the middle of Hurricane Milton, I was lying in the bed of the hotel room we had evacuated to for the night,” Meyers shared.
Peter Hermann and Mariska Hargitay
Peter Hermann and Mariska Hargitay are the ultimate power couple. Hermann, who portrays the powerful publishing house owner, has been with Law & Order: SVU’s Detective Olivia Benson since 2002. The two met on the set of Law & Order and soon began dating, before tying the knot in 2004. Two years later, the couple welcomed their first son, August. In 2011, they adopted their daughter, Amaya and their son Andrew.
Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie
Hilary Duff, who portrays Kelsey Peters on Younger, was previously married to hockey player Mike Comrie. Duff and Comrie first met in 2007 while on a flight to Idaho and began dating. The couple exchanged vows in 2010 and in 2012, they welcomed their son Luca together. Duff and Comrie separated in 2014 and officially divorced in 2016.
Hilary Duff and Matthew Koma
Duff met her current husband, Matthew Koma, in 2013 while she was working on her album Breathe In. Breathe Out., though they didn’t begin dating until about a year after Duff’s divorce. The couple made their red carpet debut in 2017 and although they briefly split, Duff and Koma were back together in no time.
