A total of 30 projects are being presented at the 19th m:brane forum for youth media (11-13 March) in Malmö, Sweden. An array of formats are being explored, ranging from VR, XR and interactive to classic theatrical feature or short forms, with series for various platforms and a raft of animation styles, be they in documentary or fiction form. In all, 18 territories are represented, with Denmark, the special focus country at this year's edition, in the glare of the spotlight.

Fourteen of the projects are also part of the forum's special science and research initiative, dubbed “The Non-Didactic Universe” and aiming to serve up “real stories and non-scripted content for today’s savvy young minds”. Seven projects are also entered in the special documentary strand called RealYoung, where these works, often in early development, are presented to a select group of young experts who share their reactions and criticisms.

The project sessions run from 12-13 March and will be topped off by the granting of the special award for the grand and celebrated “Noble Art of Pitching” event, an m:brane tradition that starts with an intensive course in the best dos and worst don'ts for all participants, and will ultimately reward one of the presenting teams with a cash prize of €2,500 – decided on by a select, distinguished and distinctly secret jury nestled among the 200 financiers, buyers, distributors, sales agents and other professional observers participating in the forum.

Twenty-two projects are part of the main pitch, with an additional eight projects at early stages of development set to be presented to select participants at closed sessions.
